This policy covers the EchoReads mobile app and this website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect
When you create an account in the app, we hold:
- Your name and email address.
- What you have read, saved, bookmarked and how far through it you are, so the app can put you back on the right page.
- Basic device and usage information, so we can tell whether something is broken and for whom.
We do not hold your card details. Subscriptions are bought and billed by Apple and Google, and they tell us only whether your subscription is active.
This website
There is no sign-in on this website and no account to create here. If you send us a message through a form, we keep what you typed and your email address so that we can reply. We measure page performance and traffic in aggregate; we do not set advertising cookies and we do not build a profile of you.
Why we hold it
To run the service you asked for: to show you your library, to remember your place, to let you download for offline reading, and to answer you when you write. That is the whole list.
Who else sees it
The companies that run the parts of the service we do not run ourselves: hosting, our content system, our email provider, and the app stores. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal information is removed. We may keep a minimal record that a deletion happened, and anything we are required to keep for accounting or legal reasons.
Content and media
Magazine covers and other public images are served from ordinary public web addresses so that pages load quickly. They are not private files, and we describe them here as public rather than implying protection they do not have.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. In the UK and EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. Write to support@echoreads.online and we will answer.

Children
EchoReads publishes material written for children, but accounts are for adults. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and say what changed in the app.
